does anyone actually freeze bread?

My wife keeps the extra bread in the freezer all the time. As she needs more, she take a few pieces out and allows them to thaw in a zip-loc bag. Tastes just as fresh this way as fresh off the store shelf.

I wasn't wearing any glasses. Stupid icicle came straight down and cut a hole completely through my upper lip. Wait...err...was I the stupid one in this story?

Scar on upper lip: Shot an icicle down from our rain gutters with a BB gun as a younger child. Lucky I still have my eyes! My mama always said, if your going to be stupid, you'd better be tough!

And today should have been a good day...

Yea, today's a great start to 2008 for us too. Our Unix server which hosts all our invoicing and accounting software lost its motherboard overnight. Hope to be back up by late today, in the meantime, we're back in the stone ages.

CFLS suck outside

A question. With the old fluorescent tube lights, I always heard that they take more power to turn on, so that you should leave them on if you are going to be coming in and out of a room, rather than turn them off and on. Does the same principle apply to CFL bulbs? Curious minds must know!

Weird things you eat, that no one else seems to?

As kids if we were sick, after we started to feel better the first thing we would always eat was a piece of toasted bread with molasses on it, and dip it in hot chocolate.

Scrapple also, growing up we used to eat cow tongue. Yes that's right, cow tongue, cooked and then eaten cold, sliced thin in a sandwich. But then I grew up on a farm and we butchered our own animals. Bulk beef anyone?

Best Board Games

I have probably play 100 or more games of Settlers/Setters + Seafarers. With the Cities and Knights expansion I have only tried it once. 5 hours later we still hadn't finished the game. We gave up and never tried it since. Granted, we will learning as we went, but it seemed very detailed and...
