Yes the CRIMMS are used to make the memory bus always balanced and predictable. This alllows designers to use smaller margins and increase the
bus speed.
I believe registered and non-registered dimms use the same memory...so cas 2.5 refers to the memory chips. The registered will have another...
Yeah I saw that. I'm pretty sure thats a typo in the manual...of course I could be wrong (:D
Getting four dimms to work in a system that can also have one dimm is a tricky thing. The loading of the dimms can vary (one dimm load to four). The
placement is not guaranteed, nor is the topology...
ABIT says that you can use only three dimms of non-registered memory, four if they are registered. The size of the dimm is irrelevent (e.g. 128, 1GB).
Here's why:
The control signals from the memory controller on non-registered dimms are shared between all dimms (and thus all memory chips)...
Yes, good stability
Good bandwidth
Decent overclocking (voltage, speed control could have smaller speed increments)
Features (KR7A does have RAID as an option, no onboard LAN or sound, no USB 2.0) If you're really pushing speed/ quality
you'd probably want a dedicated sound card and...
