Before ordering something from Microcenter it will say "usually ships within ?-?? business days." On the card in question it says 5-7 business days before you even put the card into the cart. Something to look for before ordering from them next time.
I completely agree that paying a mark up because something is new or is low in supply sucks the big one. With that said MSRP is manufactures suggested retail price key word being suggested. It is not manufactures required retail price.
The Diamond website says the core clock is 825. Seems they also have a 512mb version. I have not seen the 512 version yet.

Referring to the Danger Den blocks
8800gtx is $135
IONE 8800 G92 GT & GTS is $110
x2900xt is $145
I'm curious to see how much the new 3870x2 block will be.
Also I wonder if it will have a plate for the backside like the block for the x2900xt did for the RAM on the back. I assume that is...
This memory is specified by the manufacturer to run at 800 4-4-4-12 up to 1000 5-5-5-15

I have noticed that when microcenter does not have something in stock they offer it at a lower price until it is in stock (not always though) then it goes back up. It says ships in 7-21 business days. It is their way of being nice for making you have to wait. Still the best price so far. Even...

I like that the reviewer has already brought up the issue of after market coolers. He states they will be doing a review later on the use of Zalman coolers. I think but am not certain that the mounting holes would be compatible with a...
Typically Asus cards are more than other brands that are the same card. (not in this case/time though) IMO paying a mark up for a brand name is silly in the case of graphic cards. Unless you wanted the Asus card solely for the game that comes with it I don't see why it would matter. The only...
I was confused on the note at the bottom of the page also. It is pci-e 2.0.
"ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 GPUs support PCIe 2.0. Some third party board configurations may not fully comply with complete PCIe 2.0 specification and operate at PCIe 1.1 specifications on motherboards that support PCIe 2.0...
2nd line then read the note at the bottom.

The surface area of the plate would remain flat regardless of the actual level/plum of the plate. As long as you keep the surface being lapped as flat as possible to the plate the chances of remaining flat are better. HS that are lapped by a surface grinder are going to yield tolerances of up to...
If you do a lot of lapping and want to ensure a perfectly flat surface check out this site. The 6" x 8" one for $12.95 ($20.85 after shipping great shipping considering it weighs 12lbs) is more than large enough IMO for the lapping of HS and IHS. Has bilateral accuracy of .0001"
I have seen...
