I understand CPU bottlenecking is an issue for some people, but 200FPS(the FPS cap for BF4) wouldn't make my i7-4790K @ 4.7GHz the bottleneck. Especially, since, like I said, the cards easily hit and never drop below 200FPS on my 1080p monitor, but cap themselves at 170FPS when I set this...

Same thing for me on a single GTX 970. These problems arise when I enable SLI.

$250 Nvidia GPU for Battlefront?

I agree with everyone here that you'd want a 970, as a 960 at decent settings wouldn't run Battlefront very well. But you'd really have to find a really good deal on one that's used.

Best Video card for $200.00?

Seeing that the R9 380 is just a rebranded 280X, I would just go on Ebay and find a used R9 280X, because it offers the exact same speed, while you'd be able to find it much cheaper on ebay. I'm looking at one for only $170 right now.

2560 x 1440 card

I dunno, 1920x1080 looks pretty blurry on my 2560x1440 screen and it's only 27". I guess it's okay in games, but it's definitely noticeable. If you're wanting to game at that resolution, I wouldn't recommend anything below an R9 390 or a GTX 970.

looking at getting new vid card but

If I had the money to go for a 980 Ti over a 780(non Ti, right?) I'd do it any day, you could probably overclock the thing and get practically double the performance.

HD6950 1GB vs. GT740 1GB?

There are plenty of other "retailers" you can buy from, Like G2A, they constantly have games like MKX for like...~$10, and that's definitely a 2015 AAA title.

Does lower resolution = higher FPS ?

I wouldn't say a 280X is a waste for a 1366x768 monitor. I got GTX 970 SLI while I was still with a 60Hz 1080p monitor. Some might call it overkill, but it leaves a lot of room for upgrade for when you decide you want a new monitor. He'd regret getting something for 720p now and then realizing...

Anyone know any cheap sites to buy GPUs?

I see plenty of cheap GPUs on Ebay and Amazon, if you get them used at least. I got both my GTX 970s for $280, the MSI Gaming 4G Editions practically new.

I understand what you mean but that shouldn't be a problem considering I'm running an i7-4790K @ 4.7GHz. However, like I said, multiple tests show that on my 1080p monitor, even maxed out, it was a constant 200FPS in the firing range. Connect the monitor, go back to firing range, 1080p on...

Yeah, but the problem with that is that 1920x1080 looks very blurry on this 1440p panel. I connected my old 1920x1080 monitor back and was easily hitting the 200FPS cap in Battlefield 4 again. It is like..this monitor is somehow limiting the power of both my GPUs...

Oh my god there's a new problem, I just realized that in 1080p, my FPS is capped at 170FPS with SLI. Again, without SLI, Battlfield 4 at lowest settings is easily hitting its 200FPS cap. I don't even know anymore guys. Could it really be the cable? What the hell is it about this monitor that's...
