Also, I plan on buying a manual transmission, which should remediate transmission problems. Regardless, my heart is set on the 07 model for the updated console features and such :D

I've actually decided that I'm going to end up spending about $9k and getting a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid with low mileage. It's stylish and gets good gas economy. But, I also decided that I'll just keep driving my Crown Vic for a while before doing that. Also, I'm not sure if I should pay $9k...

Is it worth it to spend the extra money on a newer car? Will it really be less of a headache with fewer repairs? I CAN spend the money on a nicer car, but SHOULD I? My view is a car is a liability and a necessary expense, so why dump more money than necessary into it. On the other hand, I like...

Newb sytem build; what do you think?

I agree with all your choices, except the Plextor drive seems a bit over the top. As for RAM, you can get 2GB of Patriot memory for $130 shipped A/R. There are other hot deals on ram now also.

AMD64 CPU Cooler...Suggestions?

CPU idles at 70c? Either your sensor is way off, which is often the case, or you seated your cpu improperly. I use an XP-90 heatsink with an 80mm LED fan and it keeps my cpu cool in the 30s c idle.

The CRT is Back With a Vengence! (Now with a POLL)

I don't see a major improvement in size with this new CRT technology. Also, it seems it doesn't improve on weight a whole lot either. I plan to purchase a Dell 2005 FPW for college this fall to save space from my 21" CRT.

Go with an Enermax Liberty PSU or OCZ Powerstream 520w. There is no clear cut winner in image quality between the X1800 and 7900 GT. Remember, however, that if you ever want to run dual SLI cards, Nvidia is the way to go. Crossfire motherboards all suck majorly. If you disagree with me then...

If you ever want to purchase nice headphones(all around good) really cheap (well, compared to what u COULD spend on them), I suggest u go to the Head-Fi for sale / trade forums, or any for sale / trade forums, and purchase Sennheiser HD 555 headphones. I've seen them run as low as $70 shipped...

Mobo/memo/cpu recommendation wanted

If you shop carefully you can find a AMD X2 for ~ $240. Definitely get the dual core and not the opteron.
