AGP card upgrade for Athlon XP 3000

I'm not really interested in the 12pipe versions of any of these cards. How much faster than a 9800 was the original X800 anyway? The best prices I've found on X800's and X850's using pricegrabber and pricewatch are as follows: X800XT 224.oo, X800XL 252.oo, X850 XTPE 339.oo all in 256MB AGP...

AGP card upgrade for Athlon XP 3000

Thanks for the good advice. I found an AIW X800XT at newegg for $179.00, it appears to be pretty much the same spec's as the non-AIW card....16pipes, 500Mhz core, 1000Mhz effective memory....I'm wondering if this AIW card is equivilant to the normal X800XT card for gaming? Thanks.

Yep, the X850XT and X800XT for AGP are all $350.00, I did find an X800XT AIW for $179.00, I wonder if that card is decent? .....yeah, I guess your right, but its kinda related to my Athlon XP limitation, and weather a video card update is even a good choice with this older CPU setup.

Thanks, I think I read at Anandtech that the X850XT PE was a little faster than the 7800GS, but all the prices of the X850XT PE's are over 300$, and 7800GS can get for 279.00. Thanks alot

I cant believe its been almost 4 years since I built this machine. But it continues to do everything I want, so I cant seem to bring myself to upgrade. Now with the Core2 Duo coming in, I definately will wait a year longer for prices to drop on it. Anyway..... I have Asus A7V8X Mobo, Athlon...

Where buy Windows XP legitimate ver cheapest

Thanks for idea's. I have seen OEM versions for under 100 USD, but was unsure if I could take it to a different PC when/if I build one. I know Im wrong for running the version I have, thats why Im going straight and buying it. I didnt have any money before, now I have some, thats why I can buy...

Yes I do have DVI out on my Radeon, and my panel supports it. I guess I should be using it, I wasnt sure if I should with games. Im not sure about the old monitor, I never suffered this before, but I never ran Doom 3 on the old monitor 17in CRT. Thanks.
