Just out of curiosity ... what kind of memory? Is it double sided? I know in some motherboard manuals, I remember seeing some odd allowable configurations with single and double sided memory.

I can't justify replacing a working mobo right now. It's an ECS NFORCE4-MA (3.0). I hate this board with a passion, but am pretty much stuck with it for now. I have 2GB of kingston value pc2-5300 and an AMD AM2 4200+. I use the memory configuration thingies out there and almost every one...
What are the system specs? The motherboard may require it (common in servers). And if the system requires it and you don't use it ... well, just don't do it. The board needs to support it. What else has used ECC since the s939's(FX) lately?
All of the above. If you ship via UPS, gg. Pay the extra few bucks and use Fed Ex.

.... as you should have. the x700 was horrible. i wouldn't say that they maybe would be redeemed in your eyes - i say they WOULD be. you won't be disappointed with the x800xl.
Don't know if HIS is that much better/worse, but i have an HIS X800XL that comes with ACooling. With an "old" s754 amd64 3000+ and Geil pc 3200, I have had it absolutely screaming at almost anything I throw at it. WOW @ 1280x1024 w/ all weather and spell effects maxed and my frames are solid...
