E6750 & Gigabyte P35C-DS3R Overclocking Thread

e6850 seems to be a much better overclocking chip than e6750 especially with higher multi, so you should be able to oc it at a lower vcore than most e6750. I would try 1.35Vcore after vdroop to run at spec which i've seen alot of e6850 do at 3.6ghz ... but i guess it all depends on the chip ...

My Overclock Safe? E6600 @ 2.7 gHZ

i say your being very nice to your processor, most of the ppl in the forum fully abuse these chips with voltage and heat ... actually not heat coz we try to keep it under thermal spec :D ... 2.7ghz 1.3Vcore under 60C stable imho you got zero to worry about:thumbsup:

my next build will probably be when the x38's and x48's are steady in the market with results, but yeah waiting for penryn to hit the markets aswell by then i'll prob have H20 setup .... but i'm happy for now just itching abit :D hoping to get 8800gpu soon but thats all for the time being ...

On this board what i found was that it had alot of fsb holes here and there, and from my experience with e4300 my max clock speed was 3.22 aswell .... Hmmm .... well here some tips i can provide Make sure you have also put enough voltage in your mem as rated and try setting the mem...

What type/speed of RAM for best OC

The e6850 will oc better than the e6750, especially because of the multi. I've seen alot of e6850 go past 4ghz but rarely have i seen the e6750 go past this mark (on air cooling). For memory wise i would go crucials ballistix 8500 for price/performance/micron , heard good stuff from friends that...

E6750 with P5K(Update Temps)

The only way to find out is probably looking at your temps comparing with what others have with the same chip with stock cooler ... but it is really easy installing stock cooler so if it aint moving when you wiggle it then i would think that you installed it right.

North Bridge Heat

if your nb is getting to hot to touch i would recommend getting some cooling for it, it does not neccessarily mean you need another aftermarket hsf, even a fan blowing at it will make alot of difference. I have the 965p-ds3p and my nb was getting way too hot, couldn't touch it for a second and...

For me when the northbridge got too hot the system will reboot itself without giving errors in orthos maybe 15hours in.. i knew it was the northbridge as it was so hot i couldn't touch it ... after the fan no probs system runs very smoothly and noticably more stable than before 24hrs+ orthos...

CPU Temps for Stock e6850 (3GHz)

hmmm do you mean e6850 core2duo?? alot of ppl assume that the tjunctions for these chips are 100C so it will have an offset of 15 ... so if you're at 60C you should add another 15C .... no ones actually for certain though until intel makes it official i guess but if your idling below ambient...

wow that 's alot of vdroop ... well i have a problem with the northbridge getting too hot as well on my 965p-ds3p but after i got a fan it made a hell of a difference its actually warm to touch (its not hot at all) ... and also coz i had no air going towards the mb aswell it made it hotter ...

LOL gordon moores grandson! thats a good one :laugh: i was feeling like this wit the e4300 when other ppl claimed that it would go avg 3.4ghz and ppl claiming that they would hit 3.6ghz on air and i could only just get 3.2ghz stable ... to think of it the only diff i would see in real life apps...
