I have Vista Busines edition downloaded (legally, through MSDNAA) and ready to install. Just got to wait for my new hard drive, as i'm going to keep my XP installation and dual boot for now.
I don't really care what the critics are saying, I'll try it out for myself thanks.
Firstly, I'd suggest using Core Temp to give a more accurate temperature reading, Asus PC Probe makes things seem much cooler than they actually are. I use the same motherboard and processor as you - pc probe says idle temps are low-mid 20s, Core temp says mid 30s.
Are all SATA drives set to IDE mode (in bios)?
Or, in SATA mode - any SATA drivers that you need to load in Vista?
I suppose you might want to check the cables again too, unplug then put back in, worth a try.
That's all I can think of right now.
The Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT is one card with two tuners on it so you can play/record at the same time. It's a PCI-E card by the way, if that makes any difference to you.
3x120mm case fans
1x80mm case fan
1x120mm PSU fan
1x120mm CPU fan (tuniq tower)
1xGraphics card exhaust fan
Total of 7 fans, the computer is very quiet doing everything but gaming where the fan on the X1950XTX can get quite loud.
I'm using a Corsair 620HX to power my main system (see link in sig). Have had no problems and is very stable with my (relatively moderate) overclock, I'd definitely recommend it.
No Crysis for me any time soon then :(
Surely there will be some improvements though - it's not often you get a game that the best graphics card out can't run well.
I won't be buying it at all. I'll wait until it's available on MSDNAA so that I can get it for free legally.
I'll be getting partly for directx 10, partly because I can't help but want to play around with a new toy ;)
I fixed a stuck pixel on my acer 1716 by applying pressure around the area using a lint free cloth around my finger, that way there was virtually no chance of damage. Use firm but not too heavy pressure.
I run a resolution of 1680x1050, without any changes to font sizes and the like. I can see everything just fine and much prefer things at larger resolutions - must be the young eyes ;)
