Cannon stopped making the drivers for this model back when it was discontinued.. I was never able to find anything that worked and I tried dozens of possibillities. Gave up after spending probably a hundred hours of effort on this Lide 20, though from looking, I could see it was possible with...
I have an ancient cannon Lide 20 scanner that's so old I can't find any software that will run on anything later than win XP. No problem though, I just run windows XP in a virtual box. Took a little fiddling setting it all up, but works perfectly :)
You may be right. It will almost screw into an 18650 flashlight, but it's very slightly too big. Maybe I bought it by mistake many many years ago. Or maybe it's defective.

I imagine those name brand external drives are pretty expensive, so with a huge profit margin, they can likely afford to supply at least a decent cable.
Even some of the cheap enclosures will occasionally have a cable that actually works for a good while. I have one $6 enclosure that's had no...
I also have an even older dell laptop I use occasionally, an i7 machine running win 11, and I don't have this problem. I think its a 3rd generation i7.
I really don't have a solution for you, but be real sure to check all windows settings (especially the windows defender/antivirus) and make...
