so if I set 1.2500 as vcore I can leave everything else alone and figure max OC from that vcore and go from there.. square one... again!

Yeah when I was setting at 1.425 I had LLC enabled. Does all this playing around, and stressing, and changing some more, and stressing, over stress these chips at a certain point where I am significantly decreasing its life. I understand OCing will shorten the life, but it is likely there...

I had it stable at 1.4250 and 471FSB for 4003MHz reaching a max temp of 71C on prime overnight. I lowered it down because people kept telling me the voltage was too high. My NB wasn't anywhere near 1.6, it was like 1.4 max. I have a fan blowing in front of my tower but nothing like you are...

Load Line Calibration

No matter what o/c I go with, I cannot get it stable with LLC disabled. I can get 4003MHz stable with it on, but voltage is like 1.4250. I can get 3.8 stable at 1.38 with it on. I'm at 3.6 and stable with it on at 1.3500. If I turn it to disabled none of them are stable. what gives?

yeah I did lower the vtt a notch or two, I'm stable at 3.8GHz which is a solid 1GHz over stock, I'm gonna leave it alone and be happy for a while. Once I get my GTX 260/280 for xmas I might tinker with stuff some more. As far as stability testing goes, and I'm sure this horse has been...

True worth of upgrading to i7 vs the existing Quads

my q9550 and p5q deluxe are sitting at a 3.8 OC. doesn't go over 55C max load and multi-tasks like a champ. Once you get past 3.8 you really have to raise the voltage a ton to get it stable. not worth it in my view, but 1.35v for a 1GHz OC is made of win in my books.

Check out the highlighted voltages. Note: Since having this PSU the +12V has always been 11.93 stable. Now I see it going to 11.99 according to HWMonitor. THATS FREAKING AWESOME. Almost. I would be more than happy to see that, but in the right side colum I see the max it showing me as is...

True overclock gains

When I went from 2.83 to 4.0 my epeen went from a mere 5.5 inches to a now impressive 9.5 inches. Win. (sarcasm) sorry but I really couldn't resist.
