SINXP-1394 Loud Fan

Need Advice - Video Capture Software

I just put together a new machine with an A-I-W card. I found some freebie video capture software and was successful in capturing the video off of a vidcam. The problem is that that 5 1/2 minutes was 4gb in size (AVI formatted)! There has to be other software that will compress these files...

Best corporate antivirus solution for server and desktops?

Make my vote the same for the same reason. That and McAfee always seemed to want to take all of the CPU time. You could seemingly only fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Even the SP1 which was supposed to fix that never did really seem to do so.

Utilities Needed for HDD & Memory

Best hhd utility I have worked with is GWSCAN from Gateway. Dos based utility that will give you specs of a hhd plus it can run tests on drive if you suspect it's faltering. Get GWSCAN here...

BSOD with Norton Client Firewall

Running Win2K SP3 with latest updates. If Norton runs long enough I get BSOD irq not less or equal in vsdatant.sys. I read that this happend in ZoneAlarm (I think) before and can also be caused by a W32.Gunsan worm, but I have checked with AV program and no viruses. I posted this in software...
