also i'm a bit unfamiliar with this board/bios. when the machine boots it says my memory is running at 166MHz single channel mode. it is two sticks (not dual channel) of pc2700, which should run at 333. is this 166 that i'm seeing really equating to 333 since it is ddr?
thanks!
I'm not so new to overclocking, I've messed with all my machines in the past, but this one is killing me.
Regardless of what I set the multiplier to, when I boot the system it always reverts to stock. Does something need to be unlocked? I read somewhere on the vast web that these newer...
What is going on with this!? EVERYWHERE says 06/21/2005 as the release date.
Best Buy? Won't have it until Thursday or Friday.
EB? Arrives tomorrow, already sold out.
CompUSA? Arrives tomorrow.
I know people that have gotten it, though! What gives?
Yeah yeah I understand the bands and all, but I really didn't pay attention in my electrical class in college. Does a resistor function based on the total mass of the material or just the consistency of the material? Does a bigger resistor (physical size) made of the same material resist the...
how do resistors work? is the electrical current just affected by the material or do they actually have "stuff" inside them? meaning if they are still there (somewhat) and connected to the board/lines appropriately they still function?
i need to pick up another psu and test this out :P
Got a replacement motherboard a few weeks ago since mine was crapping out, but in my haste to uninstall the cpu when the new assembly didn't work (long story short, my mobo wasn't crapped, my psu was) I ripped through some small resistors with a screwdriver (damned Athlon XP heatsink design)...
Whenever I'm burning a disc and playing an MP3 at the same time, my speakers let out a heinous buzzing noise. It actually just happened while listening to music and transferring files from my camera. Any ideas?
Ok, so I have a Western Digital 80GB as my main drive (split in to 25GB and 55GB partitions) and a Maxtor 60GB as my secondary drive. I just installed XP (been using 2k for years) and it is happy with my main drive, but it will not allow me to assign a drive letter to the secondary (maxtor...
I've fiddled around inside the case and the BIOS and have found it to be a power issue. I took out one of my low-speed case fans and was able to clock high again.
