Anything I need to know on choosing a new toilet?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, go to a plumbing supply house, not Home Depot or Lowes. There is a big difference in quality. As for the actual bowl to buy, look at the Toto Drake.

Installed a transfer switch for my generator

If your panel is supported, you could use an interlock kit. How it works is the main breaker must be in the off position to allow the generator breaker to be turned on. I think its a little pricey for a piece of metal but its nice to have all circuits available for use...

Anyone setup a pi-hole? (blackhole for internet ads)

This capability exists today, with an ASUS router. I have been blocking ads on the router for a year and a half now, works great. Smallnetbuilder has all the info needed to set it up.

Generator home back feeding

The real danger is forgetting to flip the main breaker while using the genny. So, to avoid forgetting they make an interlock kit so you can't forget. They are panel specific so make sure you get the correct one. https://www.interlockkit.com/

Where appropriate to use armored electrical cable?

NetWareHead, Are permits needed in NH? If so, then the correct answer will be given to you from the inspector, so ask him. Getting responses from others with "around here such and such is accepted" means nothing, your building dept has the final say. Good luck in your project.

New central heat and air system is freaking expensive

This is the correct answer. The contractor must do a "Manual J" to predict the heat gain and size a unit to that. Never size a new unit on what is there now.

Try here for DIY Manual J. I used the Slant Fin program on my house and discovered my boiler was almost twice as big as needed to heat the space. Wasted $$ every time it runs...

Zeze, there is a lot of bad advice given in this thread. Before you do anything have that HVAC company do a Manual J heat loss on the house. A properly done heat loss calc. will tell you the right size equipment to buy. DO NOT ever just look at the ratings of the existing equipment and replace...

Switched from dish to directv

Directv core satelite locations are 99, 101 & 103 degrees. Those locations can been seen throughout the continental U.S. with a single dish. Dish has an Eastern and Western Arc wich is essentially 2 identical systems because neither orbital location can been seen reliably CONUS.

Yes, they do have pretty clear instructions, I think... One question though, using Putty, after entering user name/ pass I'm at /temp/home/root# Is this where the code gets pasted or do I have to navigate to another area ?
