Assebled all the parts...whats next?

Question about Windows XP

Hi, I am going to get Microsoft Windows XP PRO. I saw that for about $140 I can get XP PRO. but then I saw XP PRO that had the upgrade w/SP2. Its about $60 more. I was wondering what it was, and if it was worth getting for more money. THANKS

Windows XP Pro? or Not pro?

I think that I want to get Windows XP...but I can't decide whether to get the normal XP or XP PRO. Is there a huge difference? I know that there is a in price. I have an MSI K8N Neo2 platium. An AMD64 3500+. I play many games, and other things. Would I get a whole lot more out of XP PRO?

Noobie question about connecting a CD drive.

Hi, I am connect two CD drives to my MSI k8n neo2 plat. mobo. I have already connected the 2 IDE cables to the mobo, and the two power cords to the power supply. Is this all that need to be plugged in? The drives came with a smaller cord for each one. I think that they are sound cords, or...

CD IDE cables not staying in slot.

I have an old compact lying around. There are plenty of IDEs in it. Even though its very old, if the cords fit, would it effect the speed of the drive or anything? I will just use those if they won't do anything bad to the CD drive. Will they be fine?

CD IDE cables not staying in slot.

Hi, I have an MSI k8n neo2 platium, and I am using the IDE cables that came with it to hook into the CD drives. It is a cord shaped like a "y". One end plugs into the IDE connector in the Mobo, then other 2 ends plug into the CD drives. These 2 darn ends will not say in at all! They fit easily...

128mb or 256mb 9800 pro?

Obviously the 256mb is better than the 128mb for the 9800 pro, but is it really worth buying? Is there a HUGE difference?

911 or Tsunami

9/11. the tsunami was absolutely horrible, and the death toll was much greater, but it was a natural disaster. I voted for 9/11 because of the fact that it was MURDER. Still though, best wishes to the people whos live's have been ruined from the tsunami. Nearly the greatest natural disaster...

Will a CPU temp. sensor fit on this board?

I was thinking of just using it for that, and just using the free software to use the sensor inside the CPU, haha

Cleaning processors

Alright, thanks wseyller! About the thermal paste stuff though. If everything is new out of the box. Can I just put the heatsink straight on to the CPU? Do I really need to clean anything if its new, and I hold on the sides of the CPU?

Well the CPU is new, and the heatsink already has the heatspreader paste stuff on it...So am I set cleaning wise? Do I need to clean it at all since its all new? So can I just place the heatsink on the processor on the mobo, without putting extra paste on or anything? Sorry for the fact that I...
