Which is just a personal theory of your own, isn't it. I've been accused in the B3D IRC of a bit of revisionism and while I'm not going to air the particulars since I really don't care I will say that I was threatened to have my PMs read over a fairly minor incident several years back...
Regarding the last few posts, I think the comments are a little unfair. Absolutely feel free to think what you will concerning past events, but ascribing the negativity toward current management who were in no way involved is simply unfair. Rys, the current EIC, used to be a tech-head over at...
I think a lot of this post is unfair and/or inaccurate. Dave did not "promote" ATI products over NVIDIA's in his articles/reviews. His forum posts often came down in opinion in ways favorable to ATI architectural designs, but I don't think your description is very accurate. Of course bias can...
Well, I think it more fair to say that Rollo chose to disrupt whatever forums he frequented. I highly doubt AEG/NVIDIA endorse or promote Rollo's posting style (especially considering he just got banned at last week by Kyle himself).
Those games are probably using a FP16 format, to which the Radeon 1xxx ROPs can apply multi-sampling. I think the problem for Oblivion is that Bethesda went with a FP format supported by Xenos (360 graphics chip) that can't be AAed by the new Radeons.
According to the developer, ATI cards are better for Oblivion. Take that howsoever you choose to and try not to kill the messenger. :)
SLI support, according to Pete Hines, is there OOTB. Crossfire support is supposed to arrive with the Cat 6.4s.
The game also uses just a simple disc...
Thanks for the feedback. The games I tested with are pretty much my standard benchmark suite, which has been created in an effort to be reflective of what the site's readers are currently playing. So with that in mind I wouldn't change what or how I test since it tells the readers what value...
Good post, Pete. Gotta' love Rollo's veiled threat against Anand that the site may be cut off from review samples from NVIDIA if they ban little ole' Rollo. Who, you know, isn't important to NVIDIA.
You guys vehemently defending Rollo and his universal right to viral marketing: would you be...
You know, I'm not sure banning Rollo is the right thing to do. I'm fairly new here, though a long-time lurker, so maybe I don't feel as protective of this forum as some of you other guys who've been around for far longer, but at this point no one will ever take anything Rollo says insofar as...
So after repeated denials, in public and private, Rollo now comes out of the closet and confirms what I'd stated here in this forum several weeks ago.
For those of you who questioned me weeks ago, feel free to line up and apologize. :D
