Well, it would actually cost me about $25 a month extra because I have multiple lines on the account.... if I get PCS Vision, EVERYBODY is going to want it too. ;) So no PCS Vision.... lol

I have noticed a disturbing trend with camera-phones. At least with my carrier (Sprint) they claim that the ONLY way to get files from a camera-phone (I have not yet purchased one but would very much like to) to my computer is to sign up for their Sprint PCS Vision service and to email the files...

I just bought one today for my system. I'm not a gamer. I wanted a 5.1 system to use with my FreeBSD work system. I use the system to program and do various work, and I like to listen to Classical music (Orchestral) while I work. So I bought the system. I have not bought a 5.1 system...

will not run on a platform faster than 500 mhz? or does not support your processor? I've never heard of an app being limited by speed itself... but if it's the processor, that might be the case.... perhaps some virtualization/emulation software?

UnOfficial "Which Linux Distro for me?" thread

I think it's silly that there are so many different distros. If they combined dev power (more than already is being done), they could seriously pump out a mean OS. I'm not saying that the current Linux's aren't great... they are.. but I think they'd be even better if the distro development...

CRT vs. LCD - Is it time to switch yet?

first of all, I just want to be clear about my statement. I'm not at all saying that CRT's are way better as the posters below me did. In my case, if somebody offered me 3 quality comparably sized LCD's to replace my 3 quality 19" CRT's, I'd certainly take them. However that seems an unlikely...

Computer just up and quit on me last night.

same problem with my board.... for some reason, taking the bios jumper and moving it to "configure" mode... or whatever similar mode you have... and then just resetting the bios defaults.... then shutting down replacing the bios jumper position to "normal" and rebooting seems to fix it...

exactly what I was about to say.... you don't need to apply it all over the heat-spreader... I don't think doing that would be a bad thing... but it'd certainly be more messy and waste of thermal compound. Remember that under the heat-spreader is a core just the same. Applying the thermal...

WD120 showing up as 110GB?

I have the same (likely) drive and I get 114gb. However beware that if you are using FreeBSD, I have run into problems with WD drives and size detection. Not 110gb though... I once had it read as less than half the actual capacity.
