New case and now no video or beep code.

I changed pc cases this weekend and now I can't get a video signal or system post. I disconnected all the drives (HD, CD) and only connect monitor, mouse, and keyboard, yet I still get nothing. The power and CPU fans spin up and stay running, but no video or beep code. I pulled the ram chip and...

Installing OS help

Unless you need or want it, don't use fat 32. Just set your cdrom as first boot dev and then boot from your Win XP CD, then format with NTFS. This is not the only thing you can do, it is just the most simple. -john BTW -good luck

DSL Modem + Built in Router?

A router does NOT do the job of the modem! The Linksys BEFSR 41 is a Router + 4 port Switch. You still need need a modem. There are modems that have built in routers, but I don't think Linksys sells one. -john

Is there such a thing as a USB 2.0 cable?

I hear that the cables are the same, I have also heard that old (1.1) hubs will work at USB 2.0, as long as the host controller is USB 2.0. I'd like to find out the truth, anyone else?. -john

Looking 4 Powered FireWire PCI card w/internal connector

I know I/O gear makes a combo IEEE1394 (FW) & USB 2.0 Card with both external and internal connections. The I/O card is listed under USB Devices, USB 2.0 Host Adapters (at the MH site), I know the are a few others there too. -john Megahaus

Laptop help - Dell 8200 or New Gateway 600XL
