For me, the glossy screen coatings make graphics look phenomenal, but cause too much reflection (of lights, windows, etc.) for easy reading of text.

Building a video editing computer

If you get the dual core CPU (AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+), you will be able to do other things on the computer while a time-consuming video processing step is going. I think this is worth the increased price if you'll want to use the computer while you're in the middle of a video project.

You can back up 1TB onto 694,444 floppy disks. Floppy disks are cheap. Quit worrying about backup and buy them floppys!
