Monitor arrived. Zero dead pixels. Zero lit pixels. Zero scratches, dents, any noticeable wear and tear at all. Honestly I can't tell this isn't brand new. Monitor works 100% perfect. Blurry ass pic, but it's the 30" on the right... this is my current setup after the new U3011...

What Heatsink to get for SuperMicro MBD-X8DAH+-F-O Motherboard?

I bought a SuperMicro MBD-X8DAH+-F-O Dual socket LGA 1366 motherboard and Xeon W5590's, but the chips didn't come with any heatsinks. I have some LGA 1366 Intel heatsinks from some i7 chips but they don't seem to fit into the motherboard holes (they're in the same spots as they're 1366 too but...

Can I use 'server ram' w/ my i7 920/P6T?

4GB DDR3 DIMMs?

Is it just me or are there really no 4GB DDR3 dimms? What's going on with this. Now even Xeons are coming out that use DDR3. There is definitely demand for 4GB DIMM's -- I want 24GB in my i7 with 6 sticks, and I want 48GB in my new Xeon serv I'm going to be building soon. It's been months...

Where do you physically keep your harddisks?

I keep like 2 near a window so they can get nice and damp, 1-2 more on my desk, 3-4 under the bed, 1-2 more in a drawer filled w/ lots of other sharp metal parts (they're safer that way!)... yes, there's sarcasm in this post, but unfortunately I really do keep HDDs in all those places...

My Core i7 920 Overclocking Experience

exarkun: Do you have a cold room or osmething? At 3.6Ghz I have like 75-77C under full load w/ Prime95, and I have the Noctua too. samw5: At 3.7 I had SuperPi 1M of 11.07s, so I dunno how you got yours down to 9. Doesn't sound right to me.

i7 920 Safe Temps?

I had had the vcore settings on "Auto" which had them up at 1.275v or so -- I backed it down to 1.21ish and my temps are down to about 73C max using prime95 on all cores as a test (haven't tested core damage although it seems to get the chip a bit hotter). Current settings are 20*180 and a...
