I was about to tell you that. I ran an IC7 with a Mobicel and dicovered that I had to mess with the bootstrap to get the more usefull mem deviders. Did you have to bend the pin away to get the CPU to post? They woudn't work in mine unless I bent the pin. Also, for those using the P4P800...

I always found the D1 cores were the best OC'ers. I have run several at 3.6-3.7ghz whereas any C1 CPU seemed to die around 3.2ghz. Jon...

Your memory can be fine but you still get memory errors if your overclocking your system. Even running your ram at stock speeds but with an unstable OC'ed CPU, you will get memtest errors. Better to let it run several passes (5+) as the CPU heats up with each pass it can create errors that are...

Upgrading Win XP Pro system from a Celeron to a Prescott, do I need to reinstall my OS?

Thats right, I'm changing my Abit IC7 system from a Mobile Celeron (256K L2 cache) 2.0ghz @ 3.5ghz to a Prescott 2.8e. I would like to keep my same Win XP Prop install (to save time etc) but will it work/recognize/take advantage of the HT technology? Or does XP Pro need to be installed fresh...

mobile celerons > desktop celerons?

Mobile celerons in the skt 478 variety start at 1.5 and go all the way to at least 2.6. They all have the 256k l2 cache.
