Question Case for my next build? Suggestions please

I look at the Antec Flux Pro and the Fractal Design Torrent both are great cooling. I have both, the Torrent for my HTPC and the Flux Pro for my development workstation. You can check out reviews on both at Gamers Nexus, both #1 & #2 for cooling.

Question I may be building a new system soon, but not "cutting edge"

I've been building systems since the 486DX days,, Used Intel almost exclusively for both myself and my customers. But if I had to build a new high end workstation, I'd use the 7800x3d w/ 64 gigs of CL30 ram. on an x870E based mobo w/ a thermalright phantom spirit 120 se cooler. I just built in...

Question DEGRADING Raptor lake CPUs

I just built a HTPC this Jan. 2024 w/ a i5-13600KF w/ a asrock Z790 Pro RS mobo, I run it at stock speeds, should I be concerned ?

upgrade 8800GTS ? 250 or 240

Thanks guys, I've been out of the loop for a long time. Because it's only going to be used for video HD, I think I'll get the Geforce GT 240 1GB GDDR5 version.. But before I buy, I'll research the 5670 & 5770... I'll pop in the 3ghz C2D into the system also. Do you think I should add more...

upgrade 8800GTS ? 250 or 240

Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my 8800GTS 640mb card. I'm using it to watch movies at 1080p, it's connected to my epson 1080p projector. I have a stuttering problem when watching the blueray version of Avatar. I'm using powerdvd ultra 9 for the software decoding. The rest of the system...

P182 or Stacker

There are plenty of locations on the stacker to mod for air flow. The stacker can keep a system w/ 12 hd's running cool.. I know, we have several Opteron's and e6600 systems w/ 250/500 WD RE drives running 24/7 . All are cool. As far as noise is concerned, there are a lot of variables...

P182 or Stacker

There are 2 diff. versions of the stacker. one has 2 psu bays and 1 - 120mm rear fan and the other has 1 psu bay and 2 - rear 120mm fans. Both can hold 3 - 120mm fans in the front. So the P182 can hold more than 5 - 120mm fans ? I just looked at the P182, it will not beat the stacker w/...

Is Vista a good match for my system?

Smilin, Thanks,... I didn't want to get too technical... Just go and install Vista, and you can come back and tell us what you think, personally I write software under both Unix/Linux and Windows and I'd never do work for the Vista platform. Unless you want to pay me a couple of million...

win2003, Exchange2003, NUMA & 4 gig mem limit

MS says you have to have 8 servers to run all the stuff they're runnnig on 2 right now(2 diff. locations). Add all the CAL's and that up's the cost .. 100+ user's x CAL's for each server = not enough vasaline to make it bearable ... haha.. Regards, Jose

I found some info stating that 2k3 enterprise supports 8gigs and datacenter supports 32gigs of ram.. Anyone have any server benchmarks comparing Xeon to Opterons ? Regards, Jose

Is Vista a good match for my system?

I would not touch vista till the first service pack comes out. My friend loaded Vista on his 3.3 (e6600) 2g ram & 8800GTS and it slowed his system down. He can't wait to throw it in the crapper. Do your self a big favor and forget about it. Regards, Jose

Hi everyone, Is there any way to use more than 4 gigs of ram when using win/exchange 2003 32-bit ? Can't switch to 64bit os. What about using Dual Opteron mobo's w/ NUMA support ? Thanks for the help. Regards, Jose
