    Id follows Crytek, Lucas Arts

Frankly, the only developers I see crying they're victims of piracy and moving to consoles are the ones releasing mediocre games and looking for excuses as to why they weren't smashing successes. The developers that create great games seem to be quite pleased with how they're selling on the...

How to really have fun with your F1 car

I find that mostly amazing because with DOT legal competition tires on my car (Nitto NT555RII), my car won't budge with even a quarter inch of snow on the ground. On the flip side, those tires perform amazingly well on hard packed dirt roads. I drive the road to our family camp like most...

    what is this

Yearly income is irrelevant. Disposable income is all that really matters. Calculate your monthly balance, how much cash is left over? What other goals do you have. Are you putting an adequate amount into retirement? Do you intend to buy a house in the future, saving for that? Do you...

Recommend me a set of tires plz! Not sure if I want summer or all seasons

A decent summer tire will put even the best all-season to shame. You'll also be lucky to get two years worth of driving out of them, less if you drive a lot (About 20k miles is what you should expect from a decent summer tire). A cheap summer tire won't be much better than the best all-season...

    Well I'm not dead :)

This was the result of a 30mph lowside when another car forced me to the inside of the curb and a bunch of winter sand while going through a 2 lane right hand turn at an intersection. Pic1 Pic2 It was completely obvious to me that she knew I was there, because the very moment my front end...

    Smoking Brakes?

Significant, eh? Significant in my book is being capable of stopping from 60-0 in less than 120ft, with street tires. Less than 100ft with competition tires. I've never actually tried it, but I don't see the average street car stopping from 60-0, with ONLY engine braking, in any less than...

    Smoking Brakes?

I am only wrong when my comments are taken out of context. I said engine braking was pointless. That comment was made in response to a post that was recommending engine braking to the OP apparently as a means to prevent the brake smoking that occurred as a result of his spirited driving...

    Smoking Brakes?

So, to be perfectly clear, you're in complete agreement with what LTC8K6 wrote with regards to the OPs scenario?

    Smoking Brakes?

Of course you don't. On the track, it simply isn't possible to NOT use engine braking. If you're heel/toeing to keep the engine within it's optimal powerband, you are going to get some engine braking whether you want it or not. Since it's unavoidable, you have to be able to control it. That...

    Smoking Brakes?

Apparently the term 'spirited driving' is foreign to you, so let's put it in more plain english. When driving fast and aggressively, engine braking is pointless.

    EVE!

Main city? You mean main system? No, JITA isn't super laggy the way it used to be. You're still going to experience some sluggishness in high traffic systems, but it's trivial compared to how it was in the past.

Anyone took defensive driving course to reduce insurance?

No. I took one just to keep my license. At that point, it had no impact on my insurance whatsoever.

    Well I'm not dead :)

Those will be fine for protecting your noggin from any serious impact, but they aren't going to protect your face any. I'll post some pics of what my helmet looked like after my last crash when I get home tonight. I'm very glad the helmet took the damage as opposed to my face.

    Smoking Brakes?

If he was braking hard enough to overheat his brakes, then any amount of engine braking would have been trivial. Engine braking really only applies to light braking scenarios. In more spirited driving, the engine can't even remotely compete with the vehicles brake system.

    Oil change trouble

If the drain plug was reinstalled while everything was still warm or hot, and you tried to remove the drain plug while it was cold, it will be tougher to remove. If it was overtightened even a bit, it will be a LOT tougher to remove. I follow a very exact routine every time I change my oil...
