Antec Smart Power 2.0

I recently put one of the SP 2.0 350 watt supplies in a friends rig, it stated in the manual that only one fan would run full time. The second fan is only activated when an internal thermal sensor tells it too.

Any cases out there come with Quality PSU's?

I know they are not considered to be excellent PSU' but I recently built an athlon 64 rig overclocked with a 6600gt and I picked up a rosewill case from newegg with a 400 watt psu. It claims 17A on the 12v rail and it runs everything fine. I do howerver only have 1 dvd drive and 1 HD connected

Looking to build a "best bang for the buck system"

That score does sound a little low to me. I build the following rig last week ECS Nforce3 a939 Athlon 64 3000+ oc to 2200mhz 1 gig ram pci express evga 6600gt oc to 585/1150 At stock speeds I was getting about 3450 or so, but with the processor and video card overclocked I am getting...

im still trying to get my comp a little cheaper choosing the video card

I bought the EGA 6600GT PCI Express from newegg last week for 159.99 after rebate, and I have no complaints. The card has been rock solid and even overclocks to 575/1150 with no problems. Excellent card for the money.

is this true about AMD processor

I have a celeron 300A @464mhz that has been in about 4 different systems and is still running strong 4 years later. I have seen similar results with overclocked AMD chips, By the time your processor wears out it would be so outdated, it will be nearly useless. Unless of course you are talking...

No Boot, or POST AMD 1.33 T-bird

Be sure to clean off the core of the CPU really good and look at the edges and corners and see if you possibly cracked the core. I did this to a Duron 800 while removing a fop38 heatsink on accident. I could however easily see with the naked eye that the one corner was crushed.

ECS K7S5A Problem!

Oops sorry for the blank post. I have that same board, and when I first got mine I went through the exact same thing you describe. I RMA'D the board, and as soon as I got the new one it fired right up. i just got a bad one, and it sounds like you did too.

T-Bird OCed w/ Antec PP-303x.... Works?

I have that exact same setup with the ECS k7S5A motherboard, and I am having no problem running my 1.4@1.6 with voltage bumped up to 1.85. the pp303x seems to be working fine. Some others however have had problems, and not all powersupplies are created equal. I would definetly try it first...

Considering Converting to AMD... what should I get?

I recently built an AMD system based on the sis 735 chipset mb. Specifically the ECS K7S5A. I used a T-bird 1.4gig proc, and had no problems at all getting it to run. Very fast, especially when used with DDR memory, and extremely cheap. A great board for non overclockers.

Quick AMD Question

I see that there are 1.4 gig T-birds that are 200mhz bus. Does anyone know if one of them would work? I know I would not be able to overclock it much if at all, but I would rather pay the extra $15 and get the 1.4 gig if I can. I always thought the highest multiplier on the kt-133 was 12.5...
