Thanks guys, all of you. That 6670 looks like a hell of a deal around $65 after rebate as well. I like the XFX model, and I will be sure to get the DDR5 version as opposed to the cheaper DDR3 model. I don't need top-notch performance but I also want something better than say a 5450 (which works...
Actually looks like the 5670 and 6670 can both be had for about $60ish after rebates...my concern is how BIG these cards are though. I would prefer a single slot...
Hi guys,
I asked this a long while back and I believe it was a 5500 or 5600 series AMD card, is that still the case? I'd like the speediest PCI-E that does NOT require the additional power to the card.
I disagree. There will always be a market for $99 quad-core chips. Intel won't go that low. I'm shocked the new SB chips are so cheap (relatively) for Intel. $225 buys a lot of punch for an Intel CPU these days. Without AMD it would be $1000 just like the "Extreme Edition" chips and we'd get...
Just for laughs
Here's my awesome super-duper score from my Media Center rig (P4 2.8 w/ Radeon 5450, stock clocks everything): P311
It was like watching paint dry, literally. :D On the bright side, the card held up though it did get pretty darn hot. :P
5670 looks good, like the ddr5. My concern is on the power draw. I know it doesn't need the aux connector but how many watts will it take at full load? The 5450 is a no brainer at around 19W. The machine has a pretty run-of-the-mill 300W supply...I know it says 400W required but it said that on...
OK guys I need another video card. Got the Radeon 5450 HD for my media box rig and it is fantastic. Can't believe how much better it is and only $25!
Now I need something perhaps a bit higher-end for my other old rig. It is an A64 3800+ machine. Is there a card similar to the 5450 with better...
I don't do much of any video editing, at least not on any regular basis. So I guess I'll cheap out and just go 4GB for now. Didn't realize DDR3 was so cheap these days! By the time I need the other 4GB it'll probably be even cheaper if the current trend continues.
One last thing - I noticed...
Wow, that's fantastic. Do you think 4GB is sufficient? Or should I double-up to 8GB especially for that price?
I really like those big Antec cases, my last custom built was a big Antec tank and it was great.
