Decent CHEAP MB for Athlon/Duron???

A7V + sblive = PAIN

Wolfenstein 3D is ... well public domain by now, as far as I know. You can get the full source code from ID and all ... and for doom and quake and so on, too :) So don't feel guilty !

Cheap Socket A mobo??

Well, the Photo shows USB ports. These are in the second silvery box at the atx connectors counted from the right. At least, according to a´tx specs these boxes SHOULD be USB ports :-)

Biostar WITHOUT usb ? I can't believe this. Try and check the info, i'm almost sure it's wrong. The times when usb meant "useless serial buss" are over :) Biostar should know this as well as we do ...

Asus A7V Owners.

Well, the Mainboard Chipset doesn't do much more when your CPU is at full load, so it is almost as cool as with an idle CPU. And I bet that you've got a 1.02 or 1.03 A7V. Look, it's printed somewhere on the PCB :)

A7V New Bios out ! (1004C final)

Nobody knows, but ASUS. Does not fix the temperature isuue. Disables PCI Master Read Caching automatically. scheisse. causes higher temp. But seems a lot more stable ... had a lot of crashes tha last 2 days, now they're gone :-) don't know if it's the bios or something else that i did...

Is it an AWARD Bios ? If so, get a new bios (or save it usind AWDFLASH),use cbrom to remove the logo, and flash again.

Weird monitoring reports on A7V

The only thing i can think of would be another program running at the same time which also tries to read the data (it's on the SMB, isn't it?) But as you said you weren't running asus probe and mbm at the same time, so i guess you thought about that already. The only other utility which might...

Cheap Socket A mobo??

I'd recommend the DFI AK74. Before I exchanged it for an A7V I used it for about two days. It worked flawlessly and was easy to install - real plug and play :-) No shuffling cards, no problems, stable at least for the short time. Not like the A7V, which CAN be stable - but you have to work on...
