Blinking LCD - Monitor or Integrated Graphics?

Hello. Two of my users recently began experiencing problems with new computers / lcd monitors, and I'm trying to determine which is causing the problem. Changing the refresh from 75 to 60 HZ on one of them fixed the problem and from 60 to 75HZ on the other "fixed" the other one temporarily...

problem connecting to Remote Desktop

Hmm... if you can type in "frontdesk" then it sounds like your port is still set to 3389. If you've already changed the listening port to 5555, then you'll need to reboot the computer and log in before you connect (the regedit doesn't take affect until you log back in (go figure)).

Anyone here know of a laser printer that works right out of the box with terminal services? I'd prefer not to go with HP, simply because their DOT4 port printers are such a huge hassle. Thanks, Justin

Does leaving your firewall set to respond to ping increase your vunerability, or probability to be attacked? We have a vpn that someone, who shall remain nameless, set up to respond to a keep alive ping on its wan port, rather than on the internal network... Does this represent a security...

Server 2003 CAL Question

Oops, I should have been more verbose. :-) I get both options from the menu at bootup, but the one for server 2003 doesn't lead anywhere... it just causes my computer to reboot after scrolling very rapidly through some commands (if I have it in safe mode, otherwise it just appears to reboot)...

Interestingly enough, it booted fine off of a linux disc! Well, that got me in enough to reinstall Win2003. I was stupid when I set 2003 that first time. I thought that it *might* have the raid drivers built into the installer- hahahah- anyway... I suppose when the install disc had the...

Okay, so, I was feeling my oats this morning and decided I'd install server 2003 on my machine next to my windows XP install, (different logical drives). Everything went fine until I went to reboot after the base install of server 2003.. at which time, it sat blankly staring at me. Yeeks...
