I need help!!!

If your BIOS is not seeing the CD, you've got problems other than no boot disk. Here's what you need to do (unless, of course you've already fixed it)... Open the case. How many IDE devices do you have? If it's only 2 (CD and hard drive), then plug the CD into IDE2 and the hard drive into IDE2...

OK...you need a Win98 boot disk, or you need to boot to CDROM. Easiest is to boot to CD ROM: 1) enter BIOS ...Hit DEL key on bootup ;=) 2) You need to change your first boot device. It's under "BIOS features setup", I think. 3) Look for "Boot sequence" or "First boot...

Is BlackIce a poor personal firewall?

Epox 8K7A POST Problems - Please Help!

According to my Epox 8K7A manual: FF System booting. This means that the BIOS already pass the control right to the operating system. Dontcha love the translated grammar? I just opened my case & looked, and the readout says FF right now. Kinda odd, though that it would read FF right...

Security For Computer?

Use ZoneAlarm, it's an excellent firewall. As for wake-on-lan, you can disable it in the BIOS. If that's not enough, crack open that case and pull the WOL cable out. Most NICs that support WOL have a little cable running from the card to the mobo. Just unplug it and viola!, no WOL to worry...

Fire Wire connection

FTP

The FTP from IIS in W2K is pretty good. If you don't have W2K tho, try ServeU FTP. I think you can find it on tucows. I used to use it, and liked it, but have switched to IIS.
