Help installing Sata to Asus A8V Deluxe

I wasn't able to figure out how to install just one SATA hard drive onto A8V deluxe board. It seems like I would have to install IDE drive than use SATA as a secondary or something. Do I need to do RAID in order to use SATA? I do have 2 80G SATA and one 750G SATA. I guess I could do Raid...

DVD rom reads DVD, but not regular cd's

I have a Dell Latitude C610 and lately my DVD rom drive won't read any CD programs. When I insert the DVD it reads and plays in first try fine. However, when I insert the CD, any CD whether it's a program or just a avi movie, it tries to spin multiple times and it quits. I had to eject and...

Benq DVDRW not supported?

Anyone with Benq had similar problem? I'm not sure if i even need new driver. How can I verify it everything's good besides start burning?

Benq DVDRW not supported?

I have Benq 1620 dvd rw. Up till now I was just using the drive to copy cd and stuff, but just tried to flash the driver and it's telling me 'Drive not support!'. The management shows the drive as 'ATAPI DVD DD 2x16x4x16' What could be the problem?

Albatron AGP 6600 GT on sale tomorrow

Anybody know when more of the 6600 GT will be available? I was thinking to get 9800 pro, but I guess GT is better. I like the XFX, but I think once other cards are available price will go down. What is HDTV dongle mdahc?

When I had problem of sata not being detected, it was because I had the sata cables plugged into wrong sata plugs. I have ASUS A8V Deluxe and it has 2 sata and 2 sata raid. So you may want to make sure you have the sata cables plugged into correct place and controller for those ports. I...

Missing files during XP install!!

Well, I tried skipping the files, but when win rebooted it gave blue screen saying maybe HD isn't good or controller. I'm gonna try remove the memory and reinsert it and see what happens.

Missing files during XP install!!

I'm installing Windows XP Pro w/sp2 to newly formatted HD's and while setup it said it could not find UlSata.sys, UlSata.inf, and one other file. Now can these files be added on to the directory later or does it need during the setup?
