Just make sure to take every precaution you can with regard to ensuring the finished quality of the end result. Home Depot is getting a pretty bad rep. for sub-contracting work out (no actual Home Depot employees do in-home installation work) to shoddy contractors.

YMMV in comparing this to a refurb deal direct from Onkyo. This is also not necessarily $170 shipped if you live in Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington.
If you've purchased and registered previous Onkyo products you can use ClubOnkyo points toward your purchase. My refurb'd...
Just to follow-up. I ended up getting an OTD price-match on the BBuy price by going for the 1-year replacement plan. Instead of saving $40 off of BBuy, I only ended up saving $20. Still, before tax the price/GB is ~ $0.28.
(89.99+19.99-40) / (250) = 0.2799
Not bad for an external drive.

$139.98 - $20 is - $40 er = $79.98
Best Buy has the same model for $89.99 after "$50 instant savings," but only Sunday & Monday. Price match that @ Staples (who're only doing $20 instant savings) to bring the price down to $49.99 after MIR...
1080p works over VGA. It also works over component. While my TV (VizioVP42HDTV) isn't a 1080p display, it will accept (and then downscale) the signal over both of those inputs, so I've seen it work.
Even if the rumors were true, would you really need HDMI?
IMO, First and foremost, get a...
It's called consumer-acceptable price points, existing market saturation and compelling games. To say that there was very little market penetration for CDs in 1995 is insane.
The Sega CD came out in '92. - Failure: Price point too high, not innovative, confusing to consumers (several...
You could always go buy a 360.
Gears of War is already out.
Lost Planet comes out next week.
Most (not all) of the games you'd want to play on a PS3 are also available for the 360 anyway.
Edited to note: The conversation's obviously spiraled out of topic, especially since the...
I'm not looking to spend more than $300 or so, and found a few (reputable) websites selling the following couple of cameras:
1. Pentax Optio A20 (manf. link)
I dig this one because of the manual adjustments I've been reading for this and the overal quality of the camera from what few reviews...
Hmmm... the price on the refurbished receivers look pretty good... but are they hot? I've got a 5.1 Onkyo receiver that only goes up to S-Video and now that I've finally upgraded to an HDTV, the number of remote control swaps I have to do just to change inputs makes me feel like I'm in a...
The primary advantage for HDTV vs. SDTV with respect to an Xbox 360 or any video game console that supports HDTV is progressive scan output. SD video is interlace... that is to say, half the screen is drawn and then the other half is drawn. This usually is imperceptable to the naked eye...
They might already be changing this. The guy behind me in the line on Friday was a Costco employee at another store (had to shop at that one and wait in line to be "fair" to the customers... neat!) and he mentioned something about "coming back in 364 days" ... so maybe Costco is changing its...
Glad I went to Costco. Much hotter deal IMO for the Vizio VP42 in that I only had to stand out in the cold for a couple hours to be the 5th person in line... as opposed to Best Buy and Circuit City where reportedly people had been camped out since 2AM or earlier (heard on the radio that some BB...
I thought the GV42L looked "better" than the VP42 as well, but you can't really know for sure until you bring it home or spend a considerable amount of time at the store tweaking the display with a reliable source of HD content. The Costco I went to had all of the Vizio's except for the 50"...
The VP42HDTV does have a tuner...

While I agree that the Panny has a better established brand and quality, I'm still going to pick up the Vizio. The set looks good enough for me and the return...
