Can LCD monitors be used with win98se

Yeeeeeah, I bought the Samsung 713N LCD monitor. I am now using it at 1280x1024 resolution and win98se. The words look crisp on this page. I tried playing Medieval : Total War just now at 800x600 and it worked fine. Thank you for all your help!!!

I will be getting a better graphics card and a better processor later, but I wanna get a LCD soon. Right now, the games I play does not requires such a high requirement. I believe I can get a much better system if I upgrade later, at the same price. I think I will be getting the 17 inch Samsung...

Thx for the reply. Has anyone seen a game run in non-native resolution? I know text will be blurred in a non-native resolution but what about games? Thanks.

Can LCD monitors be used with win98se

Well, the games I play includes Warcraft 3 : Frozen throne and Medieval Total War Viking Invasion. I play these two game at a resolution of 800x600 32 bit colour and it is fine on my 15 inch Viewsonic CRT Monitor. I wonder how they will turn out on a 17 inch LCD though.

Thx for yor speedy reply. Is it possible to play games on 800x600 or 640x480. Will my video performance suffer a hit. I read that text is clear only on the native resolution of 1280x1024, but I am not so sure about games.

Thx all for your speedy reply! When Kensai says it is possible, do you mean that my native resolution can be 1280x1024 but when I play games in 640x480 or 800x600, my video performance will suffer? I have read that text can only be seen clearly using the native resolution but it is not so good...

Help me choose video card for P3-800 MHz

Hi, Thanks. I have another problem. I heard there is some problems with certain AGP cards using a different voltage(3.3 V or 1.5 V). If you placed the video card with the wrong voltage into the AGP slot, the computer will fry it. Is that true??? I think I'll go for the Radeon 9200 non-SE...

Help me choose video card for P3-800 MHz

Hi, Thanks for the replies, but I just wanna get a new graphic card. I notice that 9200se memory interface is 64 bit and 9200 memory is 128 bit. How will this affect their speed on my P3 800 MHz. What difference will I see in my 3DMark2001SE score for 9200 and 9200se??? Thanks.

I have benchmark my rig with 3DMark2001SE and it has a score of 2536 for a normal test, that is, 1024X768 32 bit , Anti-aliasing off, D3D Hardware T&L, compressed textures. May I know how my computer performed? If I change the video card, how much difference can I see in my 3DMark2001SE...

Wow, thanks so much!!! I wonder where I can get my hands on ATI Radeon 9100??? I have only heard of ATI Radeon 9200SE and non-SE version. By the way, for my rig, is the SE or non-SE version a better bang for the buck??
