overclocking ASUS A7V-E

I read somewhere that people where able to set the multiplier to 13 and 14 to run Athlon 1.3 and 1.4 on this board. any idea if the latest BIOS will allow setting a multiplier above 12.5 ?

I would like to know if a 900MHZ 200FSB Athlon can be overclocked in any way on ASUS A7V-E mb. There are 256MB of PC133 ram. It looks as if the CPU is locked, so without unlocking it, would I be able to increase the bus speed beyond the current 100mhz ? I increased the FSB to 110mhz and it...

WinXP media player sound problems

When I try to play sound from a web link like radio station, the winXP media player shows status of playing the clip, but thete is no sound. If I play a local MP3 file, sound is heard OK. What can be the reason ?

Connecting a NIC to the uplink port on a switch

I had 2 PC's networked NIC to NIC with a crossover cable which goes through the atic. Now I have installed a switch, and I still want to use the crossover cable. Can I connect it to the UPLINK port ? Is it allowed to connect the UPLINK to a NIC ?

Home network problem / WinMe

Let me narrow down the question. Why isn't my home network working any more ? Shouldn't the two machines which are connected via a crossover wire, be able to ping each other ? Is the fact that one system has an additional NIC for ADSL, causing the local LAN to break down ?

Bypass DVD region lock on GD-7500

How do I bypass the DVD region lock on HITACHI GD-7500 ? I am running WIN/ME and it seems DVD GENIE does not work on my system. Is there a way to switch region without flashing the drive ?

PCI128 sound card not recognized by WinMe

The legacy audio devices are not present in the device manager. I will check the IRQ and DMA. What do I need to do if the IRQ is shared ? Can I manualy force a device to use another IRQ ? If the DMA is the same, can I change it ?
