Just a note from my personal experience: The 400GB drives (7200.8, .9 and .10) from Seagate were the most RMA'd I've ever had, so it's no surprise to me that they have quite a few refurbs to sell. Everyone's experience is different, of course.

DDR3 Low Voltage RAM question

I'm running a set of this myself. Unfortunately, my motherboard doesn't support less than 1.5v (even though it reads the XMP Profile as 1.25v). It runs fine, and I imagine it will allow for tighter timings (I just haven't gotten around the playing with it).

2 PSU failures in 4 days

Based on the above thoughts, I would definitely get myself a 600va (or better) battery backup/UPS, preferably with LCD display (so you can see what's going on) and AVR (automatic voltage regulation). They are lifesavers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16842102069

Why aren't people waiting for socket 2011?

2011 is here to stay, my friend. 2012, perhaps? :) I think we're at a point where everything is already fast enough, and while PCI-E 3.0 will provide worthwhile in the future, high-end video cards are already CPU limited, so if you're in need of an upgrade, there's no reason not to do it now.

Draws too much power and makes too much noise. True extenders draw 10 watts max. And I agree that not being able to simply link up another Windows PC as an extender is idiotic.

I just messaged the seller to ask what they do in the event the unit is defective. The eBay listing says they don't take returns, and doesn't indicate if the unit is covered by manufacturer's warranty. From a reputable seller here (for less)...

This PSU is better than anything else you could possibly buy for $25. I've used many of them for Core i3 builds. Quiet fan, steady power and absolutely no coil whine.
