Ok, lets tell you how I got ahold of this system...
Friend of mine was moving, had no room for his computer so he gave me the tower and a 19'' CRT monitor (woohoo :D ).
Well he said he...
A step in the right direction!!!
Was doing what you said using a voltmeter and found the pins to be set this way:
Ground +5V [NC] * * *
Ground +5V [NC] * * *
i tried using the next set like so:
+D -D *
-D +D *
Didnt work, so Ill try the opposite in a few.
Typical Asus response... with spelling mistakes... thought it's a mirical you got a response at all!
btw, im not claiming to be mr perfect either but "to" is two....
Either A) You plugged the enlight 420 in wrong and shorted the board or B) The enlight was faulty or C) some bad run of luck caused your MB to die.
No post means your motherboard isnt even turning on and a warm PSU means there was a short somewhere. A PSU doesnt get warm when you first turn it...
Pay $800 for a check made out to me... heh just kiddin'
If comp speed isnt an issue, get a 19''LCD and a nice quality speakers... though if you are a gamer, id save and wait untill later.
hmm dead video card... or is it onboard video?
though ive never heard of a british siren... that would be more like the MB pc speaker.
I would bet the MB is defective...
Just my thoughts... ive never heard of such a thing
Could be as simple as a crossed wire heh =/
Why waste a 5 1/4 on a HD when you could put another DVDRW in there... or inner cooling resovour (sp)?
EDIT: Not really, they make burnable 3.5 disks.. or something similar hehe (Mini Disks)
I could care less about the brand, if ATI out performs Nvidia (Which they do at the moment) I will go with ATI... if Nvidia outperforms ATI, i'll go with them.
Hopefully by the time I get enough money to buy my vid card, one or the other will have BETTER cards out (PCIX?) and it wont matter...
ive never heard of shorting out a motherboard via usb pins but i dont want to mess up ;)
Emailed ASUS since it is an ASUS board and was told they wouldn't give me the pin-out positions... something to do with it was an ASUS board but used by HP... ?
Would have been as easy as looking it up...
My pin layout is different...
they are like this:
USB-HD Pic

Ok, im trying to get my front USB cables to work in a Antec 1080AMG Performance Plus case. My CPU did not come with a book since it was a complete system when I bought it.
The original USB cables on my other case were setup so they were one set.
It took me about an hour to find out how to get...
