Radeon 4770 slower than 4850? Help needed

Using FurMarks to see how a card performs is worthless. Also, if your stuttering try updating to the newest's ATI Catalyst drivers 9.8, there was quite a big improvement in FarCry2, like 40% boost. If your harddrive is also in use, it might be other programs affecting it, such as Anti Virus...

FIX for ASUS Fail to POST when OC'ing

Can't you just simply power down the PC by holding the power button for a few seconds then start her back up? I'm assuming it's because you've either undervolted ur CPU or ram to the point it won't even post. Anyone else know if this works on other brands like Gigabyte etc since I've never...

42C idle at .93 vcore and 1.6 ghz -- i7 920 is a furnace!

I can't agree more with you, and the same goes for AMD. The stock HSF doesn't even cover half the cpu's surface, this is probably to prevent folks from OCing it at the same time saving on material costs ~_~.

Overclocking Q6600 healthy temperatures?

I can't tell if people that are getting 3.6 ghz on less than 1.4 or even at 1.4V are trolls or got golden chips. Mine does it at 1.43V and the temps idles at 57C and loads at 85C. That normal? Sadly even with an aftermarket CPS9700LED the temps are considerably higher than most folks.

Any user review of Core i5?

Since they're selling in Taiwan and Australia I figured some people already benched and tested how far i5 can OC for 24/7 aircooled already. Anyone got any links? [Edit]Well here's one for i5 750, its a good article but lacks what I was looking for which was avg OC with aftermarket cooler...

ATi Catalyst 9.8 drivers

Holy crap, that's some serious claims of gains right there. As someone else mentioned, can someone confirm if its true for the 3870. The damn card is only released 1.5 year ago and I can't find anymore reviews on em anymore :(

Help! My computer freezes randomly

bigsnyder: I already tried it :( was using the lastest Cat 9.7 and went back to an older version still the same thing. deimos3428: I will try that but when it freezes, nothing crashes ever it just freezes completely(mouse, keyboard etc) then resume as though nothing happened so I don't think...

intel board; no post then powers off?!?

You bios chip on the motherboard needs to be replaced. If its soldered onto the board, then you need to RMA it or get a new board. Clearing CMOS doesn't fix the bios if its bricked.

Help! My computer freezes randomly

I got a new motherboard since a bad flash messed up my old X38 Asus board. I got the P5Q turbo pro also from ASUS to replace it, and now every 30 minutes or so my computer freezes for 2 seconds(mouse freezes everything stops) and then resumes. It doesn't crash, just does this random freezing...

CPU Scaling for Quads

I'm using 3870 in CF :(. Didn't feel a need for upgrade since I'm still stuck with a 17" LCD as I can run all the games at near or maxed out settings. Though some games does occasionally drop down in the high 40s such as Crysis on very high. But then again Crysis is insanely unoptimized.

CPU Scaling for Quads

I was wondering if anyone had any insight or know of a "recent" review for same CPU but different clock benches on Games for speeds of 3 ghz and above. I got my Q6600 still doing great and didn't feel the need to upgrade it but was wondering if bringing it to 3.6 ghz or beyond is worth it...

Problem with my Vista After Bios crossflashing

I got an Asus P5E mobo, and I crossflashed it with the Asus Rampage Formula bios ver. 0701 The bios works great, but in the BIOS it doesn't have the CPU properly identified it only has the QX6xxx versions but I'm using a Q6600. I don't have any problems with the settings since the I was still...
