I know that many of you got in on the Best Buy or Staples version of a deal back around the first of the year for the ZE4XXX series of laptops. It is a fairly widely know fact that these laptops have a bad deisgn when it comes to the AC power plug (there are other manufacturers that use the same...
Wel, so far I have to say that I am impressed with HP customer service. I had a problem with my old Dell laptop (motherboard needed to be replaced) and they sent someone out to pick it up from Airborne and it was back fixed in two days. That experience was so impressive that I always said I...

For those individuals who need a cheap NIC....
Office Max has a D-Link Dual-Speed 10/100 NIC Card for $9.99 and there is a $5 MIR.
Not sure about tax, depends on where you live ... or shipping.
I agree, if you check out the root directory there is no way to actually access a store to buy it. Looks like a spam collector to me.
A link implies affiliation but that doesn't make it true.
damn, dave. That is some excellent work you did there. Did you get the parts for the pigtail from radioshack as well as the heatshrink? Got any item numbers for the connectors?
Thanks a ton! I like your fix more than the others.
Just found a much better deal:
Amazon has a 64 MB MMC for 29.99 and there is a $5 off $25 available. Don't ask me to send it to you... look a little and it will be revealed.
That puts a 96MB player at $64.98 now that is a little more respectable.
BTW the 128 MB Card is 66.95 and there is a...
Not hot but at least it is a source:
LiveWarehouse
64 MB $32.99 +S
eCost has MMC cards as follows:
128 MB $72.30
That is very steep compared to other media types.
So, bottom line for a 96 MB MP3 player is $72.98 +S for the card
I am in the progress of RMAing a 256 stick PC2100 crucial - I was getting a BAD POOL CALLER BSOD and it was telling me BIOS IS NOT FULLY ACPI COMPLIANT. I popped in some PNY value with ELIXIR chips and it booted fine with no errors. Limited lifetime warraties are good!
I need a quiet case with good airflow and settled on: Antec PLUS880 - SOHO File Server
I found it on BUY.COM for $135.95 with free shipping.
So buying with AMEX Gold and PMing to Page Computer yields $99.99 shipped. I think this is a pretty sweet deal but can get better.... see if you can...
Went by my local B&M today and they had PLENTY of the Belkin Routers, the Maxtor relabels, and the Santa Cruz's - only four sets of the Z-540's though. I'll be getting in on all 4 on Sunday.
FYI - I just (11:00 pm Friday) bought one, the rebate ends tomorrow. They are still aparently available online - I tried Tuesday and they said they were out of stock. A friend got one earlier this week, received it the day after placing the order. It has Elixir chips.
For what it's worth:
I couldn't find any further info on the web for this biz or the individual listed. I even searched the yellowpages - nothing. I'd stay away.

It is better than WinMX and other Gnutella clients IMHO because you don't have to log onto several servers. That has always been hit and miss for me. It logs onto a central network - ala Napster - and you are connected to all of the resources available in one fell swoop.
I have had great luck...
