Occupation Thread

Tractor Trailer driver working for FedEx. Some one had to move this stuff around. From paper to big server racks. I've seen it all. Including pandas too.

Is this even right? (3770k for 229.99 @ Microcenter)

Have been going to Micrometer for years here in Northern Virginia. Place has been around even before CompUSA faltered. Picked my I7-3770k up in Feb for 229. Had to get Gigabyte Z77X-UP5 from Newegg . Also picked up Corsair Vengeance 16gb kit for $75. Checkout the SSD prices also.

Friggen cold out there today!

Cold is just a state of mind. Just think warm thoughts like a nice white sandy beach in Tahiti. If that doesn't work, then walk outside in swimming trunks so people will call the people who carry the funny jackets. If that doesn't work then just live with it.

To tell you the truth, it's a priveledge, not a right. You were granted a priviledge to have a radar detector for your personel use. You are not entitled to any rights granted by the constitution to have 1. Just as I was granted a priviledge to use certain frequencies in the amateur radio bands...

Any DC / NOVa people that can give some advice?

take 66 east to constitution Ave, make a left turn on 7th st, follow it all the way up to U ST and make a left. It is north of the DC Convention Ctr. And if you decide to ride on the Metro, you can get on from the Vienna station which does have parking. 9th ST below New York Ave is one way...

Pros/cons of switching from Comcast to Verizon FIOS

to tell you the truth, switching to fios from comcast will put you into a peaceful state of mind. no connection throttling to worry about. constant speed connection with no worries about neighbors sharring the bandwith at peak times. there really is no con when going from cable to fios.

what cpu are you trying to overclock, and what buss speed are you trying to acheive? for example I have my q6600 running at 3.2 ghz with my mem set at 400x8 5-4-4-15 in sync 1:1 on p45 chipset

i7 920 vs q9550 :o

Thing is Intel's chipsets have always been more reliable then Nvidia's. X58 are Intel chipsets which Intel developed unlike Nvidia's 5,6,and 7 series chipsets. As for erratta all cpus have them and that's why they write programs to work with them, it's nothing new. Oh by the way, Dell has...

Please review my i7 build.

I would go with the onboard sound on the motherboard instead of the X-fi. Gigabyte has good onboard sound system for that board, plus save yourself a few bucks.

q6600 overclocking

the voltage was showing up in CPU-Z, I had it set for auto on my MB. So before vdroop, it was Probably 1.5. Right now I cut it back to 3.2 ghz and set my Volatge manually to 1.35 and with the vdroop factored in cpu-z is indicating 1.28 to 1.296 with my temps hovering at 32'C at idle in a room...

q6600 overclocking

I'm overclocking my GO stepping that I got back in December at 3.6 ghz 9x400 with a vcore of only 1.402v on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L motherboard with my cpu temp currently at 36'C. By the way with my system running at 1600fsb because my motherboard supports this speed. My memory timmings are 1:1
