Ivy Bridge vs Core 2 duo and Core 2 quad

I definitely wasn't complaining, actually trying to be a bit sarcastic! In fact, none of my old chips could touch this 3570k at 4.7ghz. I do however, disagree that a 3570k does not benefit over a 2500k. I have compared the power consumption to my roommate's 2500k at 4.8ghz, and it is MUCH lower.

Is the mousepad dead?

I also went without for quite a while. Then I bought a huge gaming mat to see what the hype is all about. I would say it's the biggest upgrade you can give a computer, especially if you have become accustomed to a blank desk. However, I think expensive mice are a complete waste and often lower...

Unimpressed by new SSD!

To think I upgraded my E8400 -> i7 930 -> 3570k, and it's only 50% faster in starcraft (all I play)!

If you've had your mouse more than a couple years do me a favor.....

Laser mice and optical mice are different! Once a week I wipe it down with alcohol. Every few months, I replace the feet. Once in a blue moon, I pull it all apart and retape the internals to prevent rattles (ie3).

What's your lbs/hp ratio?

I hope that isn't aimed at me. I always thought hp/weight is a very interesting number, but the motorcycle actually can't keep the acceleration up past 150mph once the wind resistance becomes a huge factor.

3D TVs terrible

My Sony automatically goes to full brightness in 3d mode. Just like it automatically dims and runs at 24fps in cinema mode.

FSB is somehow locked up? EP-UD3P

In the past, I successfully had my fsb set to 400mhz x 8.5multiplier = 3400mhz. Now it will only boot at 266 fsb. If I change it by even 1mhz, it will reset itself to stock! What I find even more strange is that I can use the software overclocking (Easy Tune6) and it successfully runs at 300...

Missing Epox Drivers?

The realtek driver worked! I don't know what I would do without anandtech. However, I can't get 5.1 from the optical output to work - it will only play stereo. Any ideas there? Regards, Paul

Missing Epox Drivers?

I reformatted and have no sounds drivers for the EPOX 8rda3+, the epox site never works and every other site mirrors directly. Please let me know if you know where to get these, or if anyone still runs this board and has a cd, etc. Best Wishes, Paul

Keyboard + Dishwasher = clean working keyboard??

I have spilled a whole glass of milk into my crt monitor, and it shut off instantly. The power button did nothing, but two days later, it powered on just like new! You are probably taking a risk anyway!

Anyone have a big mouse?

I am wondering if anyone knows of a large, wide mouse to fit the hand better. I have large hands, and I can not stand pinching my mouse with thumb and pinky any longer! Is there anything out there at will get rid of my pain? :evil: Growing from age 8-18 with computer games, my thumb and pinky...
