Need to speed up wife's computer

I would like to chime in. I was in a similar situation on my laptop: Old t2080 intel dual core 2 GB ram (ddr2) Shitty 5400 rpm harddisk. Chrome. Surprisingly the biggest problem was not the positively anemic and aging CPU, nor the RAM, it was Chrome. I like OP's wife tended to have 40+ tabs...

Whats your best ever PC related purchase?

Going from an AMD socket 939 single core CPU (forgot the exact one) to the i7 920, by far the most expensive part, not to mention CPU, I had ever bought, but it is still doing its thing, rock solid and my GPU is still holding it back. My razer Naga mouse, I couldn't go back to playing an MMO...

BIOS settings resetting when power disconnected

Need a book? My father might be able to help. (Large pic)

That looks like about the same amount of what I have in physical books, gotten a Kindle about a year ago, still reading physical books, but the best part is that I no longer need to pack 6 books in my trunk when I go on vacation. Still buys 10 new ones though :)
