i've used enclosures with the combo prolific chipset (PL3507), works well. there was a time when these chipsets were new, and oxford made a name because theirs worked better than others. i don't think that's the case with current chipsets - if it supports 300gb devices, it's probably fine...

slightly off-topic, but can anyone give an overview of when these early termination fees are required to be pro-rated? i think contract termination fees are required to be pro-rated in some states. the contracts never mention proration of the early term fee, but still some state laws mandate it.
