Yes I had a similar issue. Except when both were loaded it would state full turbo was on. Then it would show overclocking was disabled. During the post that is. I had to disable the second one. I had to reset with different bios which is where I ran into issues.
Okay I was able to actually mod this bios for you. The only thing I left was one microcode for broad. Sign up for a free account at sendspace. Then you should be able to flash with no problems. Just remember you will have to load the driver v3.efi in order to get full turbo boost. Follow Dufus...
Also guys if you are using the latest bios that supports Broad then you might want to make sure and extract those codes too. Giga actually has a one for the f1 06 04 that also includes the f2 + f1 06 03 code as well.
Just wanted to let you know, that if you are using v3 you should search for f2 03 06 and f1 03 06. I'm going to download your bios and see what I can do with it. You familiar with the actual efi guide yet?
Yes mine is, however with further tinkering I botched it. Trying to manipulate the pci lanes. So now I am actually on my x99 sli giga. Trying to do it from this mobo it is acting weird don't know why.
Nope you are correct, bug only works with the e5 v3. I am interested to know that skylake xeon if you can alter the bios to overclock via the bus. I doubt it but hoping. I have a skylake i3 overclocked to 4.7 exploit.
If i'm not mistaking MSI has a halt on no ucode. Have you tried instead of removing the mcode to modify the cpu id instead? I believe someone tried this early in the thread. I attempted with Giga board and the results were good but unless I use the efi trick nothing worked.
Most won't take the chance of modding a modded bios for you. The best you can do is post a link to the bios you want help with. I.E. http/mobomanu.com/support/bios and name the specific bios. What are the specs of your motherboard? Asus is tricky to do. I am trying to mod a bios right now but...
Lots of info to read here. I appreciate the OP for taking the time. This is being seen and linked on other forums I belong to.
So rule of thumb, as I have not read all the posts in this thread yet. I will if you can't get pass the original frequency of the xfr, The best thing to do is leave it...
I will look into it. The v3_2 for 2 cpu's or more. I know your running an Asus board. I am surprised it didn't have core optimization in it. Especially with the price paid for that motherboard. I think with that version of the v3 that some of the cores have to step down. I'll download it and...
Hey I just wanted to know how you came up with this data? What test is what I am asking? Also after removing the Mcode did you do the shell.efi driver load? Or did you just remove the Mcode.
I know for a fact removing Mcode with windows 10 causes the OS to load on the fly a mcode. Which results...
Sign up for the free account by going to sendspace. The file I uploaded has no mcode. This is the latest bios due to the fact of early bios kept restarting. It works well and I really don't care for the GUI but maybe when I get some extra time I will look into it. Flash in bios just do a normal...
Yes I did set up a small baseclock. I haven't ran into any snags with it yet. The only difference I can really see is the full turbo at the moment. I am looking into mcode deep web to see if there are any other mods that can be done.
What Motherboard do you have? Also do you have v3 xeon?
I followed @Dufus guide on the shell efi and managed to get all cores to turbo boost. I leave my speed step and everything on. The cool part about it is that when this is done that way. The computer will actually idle down then when put under load my Xeon will full turbo on all cores. Also the...
I don't know. I left my microcode out completely. Now the one thing I did notice is that when I did this is that my normal baseclck overclocks didn't work as well. I know someone around page 2 or 3 actually tried several mcodes. Now I know that there are several mcodes included in the mcode. It...
