I switched over to CleverMining on the 19th and they have been very reliable so far. Funny thing is that MiddleCoin finally caught up and sent me another payment on the 23rd, so the admin there is at least putting *some* effort into keeping the pool alive. I'm going to stick with CM though...

I'm a little vexed with middlecoin. It hasn't paid out since the 16th. I have moved my 24/7 card over to clevermining, and when I am away from the computer I use my desktop card to keep mining middlecoin so that I can get a final payout from them before tasking both cards to clevermining...

Maybe it's a windows thing. One thing I want to try is setting up a bootable linux USB and running the same .bat files to see if hash rates improve. Just haven't gotten around to that yet.

Hey guys, I have a problem that I haven't been able to find an answer to by searching. I have two 280x (sapphire vapor-x) that I mine with. One card mines 24/7, and the other one powers my desktop while I work and mines at night. Both cards when mining on their own get a higher has rate...

Thanks Attic. I'm not quite ready to build a full-on dedicated 3-card miner, and I can't get any more vapor-x 280x cards at the moment anyway. I will probably go with the 270 as you described, and then see where I go later.

Kloc, my thinking on the 270 was that I could use it for work, rendering, watching videos, etc while the 280 mines during the day. Then at night running a second .bat for the 270 so that it can put its 350 (or whatever) kh/s to work while I sleep.

I've been mining for fun (and miniscule profit) for a couple of weeks. I seem to have the bugs sorted out and my 280x can hit 280k pretty steady if the rest of the computer is idle. With a bunch of stuff open but no video going it's in the 660 - 675 range. But when I try to play a youtube...

Absolutely. I appreciated Mark's earlier post about what needs to go into a good new cryptocurrency. It needs to improve upon what we already have in BTC & LTC, and not just be a copy/paste pre-mined pump & dump. We need a third stable coin for the every day person. A coin that isn't set...

I think it's best to focus on cryptos that have a shot at longevity. LTC is obviously one, but there will most likely be 1-2 more coins that will be there for the long-term. Ability to mine via GPU in for the duration of the mining process will be a big part of a coin's long-term viability...

Opinions on AMD FX-9590 220W?

Oh, and as for the OP, go with an 8350, put it under water even if it's a water 2.0 (it'll need better fans if you want some quiet though) and overclock it if you're not getting the game performance you want. OR just use a good air cooler and put the money you saved towards your video card.
