difference with "Business class" proc from amd?

Opteron has 1207 pins (socket F), whereas athlon or phenom have 940 pins (AM2, AM2+). Socket F supports more than one processor.

Phenom II 940 (deneb) @ 3DMARK @ Everest and a bit of OC

http://en.hardspell.com/doc/sh...ws_id=3858&pageid=3150 The review of Phenom II is here, it is about 8% faster than Phenom, so it is meant to compare to Core 2 Quad. Core i7 is currently untouchable in terms of overall performance.

overclock memory but not CPU?

You increase the bus and reduce the multiplier, then you can get the CPU close to stock speed. You can use a tool like "RMClock" to reduce the multiplier. But currently RMClock is no updated, so it doesn't support i7.

nVidia 6100, is it failing

I wanted to change it now because i am afraid that when the mainboard fails, socket AM2 will be obsolete and AM2 mainboard price will be very high. Well, I am not a gamer, I just play simple games. Or can i wait until the mainboard completely fails before changing, how long will AM2 socket be...

nVidia 6100, is it failing

But it should be able to support vista... Vista works initially, and failed to work after 12 months. 2 USB ports are missing for no reason, should i change the nforce mainboard to ATi chipset mainboard?

after using MSI nforce 403 + GeForce 6100 IGP for about half a year, two USB ports went missing for no reason, they areidentified as unknown devices in Device Manager. when the warranty is over, about 12 months +, Vista cannot work, the display just doesn't show up after log in. I tried...

Now that the GTX 260 is the same price as the 4870...

Assuming that you have an Intel Chipset mainboard, you can add another ATi card in crossfire mode.

Software to monitor shut down PC incase of fan failure

A rapid rise in temperature will cause an immediate power off with no warnings to protect processor, I think throttle is only for temperature rise that is not too rapid and at the same time the temperature is high an close to threshold. Well, I am not very sure, but I think it should work like that.

Did you overclock, its very difficult to get yourself a bad CPU, I suppose Intel tested every CPU before selling them?
