Overclocking the 6800GT

Hey people, i recently got a 6800GT by MSI (red pcb) and it overclcoked using stock cooling and through nVidia's control panel option to 428/1180. It has been working very reliably (10+ loops on 3dmark 01 followed by 5 loops of 3dmark 03 and about an hour of doom3 all after each other :D)...

I'd personally go for the MSI variant, since i dont live in the states i dont know how the tech support stack with that of BFG but at work ( we are MSI disti for malta) so far we return so few MSI cards especially when compared to sapphire, chaintech and other brands . Also MSI has 3 yr...

Best gaming LCD?

i'll second the 2001fp, or if you cant find dell near you, there are many other manufacturers with identical (using same panel) offerings. if you dont want to spend so much the 19" Samsung/ Benq 12ms models are great too

yup , nexus is a fan controller only The aerogate 4 is not that good - its a big heatsink but the fan isnt as effectife as the cooldrive 6 or the vortex personally i think the cooldrive 6 is the coolest since you can control the lcd through software and it also has a cross flow type fan like...

My northbridge fan just died on my msi neo mobo need a new one

go msi ;) on a more serious note, have you tried aluminum filters? i bought from frozencpu.com and they are realy good - they give GOOD airflow, block out a ton of dust and best of all they are not flat - they have this ridged design and most of the dirt and muck gets trapped in the 'valleys'...

hey pirred, the xaser 3 case has the 2 80mm fans in the front which are decent at keeping the hdds cool, HOWEVER make sure you get rid of those cheap-assed crap thermaltake give. I replaced mine with zalman (cheap quiet and move quite a bit of air) and with a dremel i cut out the stamped...

since your case has te chrome grille at the back it is one of the new praetorians, dont bother taking out the other grilles - they are high quality so dont worry regarding the installation, unfortunately thermalright doesnt give any details for abit mobos so i have no idea, however i have heard...

What video card are you using with the Dell 2001FP?

toneman, since you are connected through DVI, refresh rate as far as i know does not really come into play any more. in any case its really the response time of the panel which matters regs Kurt

i dunno about their products in general but the VP201S is really an excellent product in every respect, if you look at the spec though it, the dell 2001fp, the lg 2001 something, the benq 2091 and quite a few more use the exact same panel manufactured by LG philips if i'm not mistaken, so really...

i think the 360 core is better... we just had a batch of 9800pros built by MSI at work and they have extremely fast ram and are automatically detected as 9800XTs by windows - Then its just a matter of upping the core and ram to 9800XT speeds and voila EDIT: MSI confirmed that they were build...
