I've performed an error check using DVDInfoPro and it came up clean. I'm using Nero 6.6.0. I may try using Roxio to see what happens. I hate to burn at a lower speed but I have an adequate supply of DVD+Rs to test out that theory so it won't go to waste.
I have a Plextor PX-708A DVD-RW drive and a Lite-On 16X DVD-ROM (SOHD-167T). The only media I've been using for backups are the Ridata 8X DVD+R. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=17-132-321&depa=0
Normally when I finish burning data to my DVDR, I test the DVDR in my...
I should probably post this in a topic of my own but for multitasking purposes, which processor would be suited for that task. P4 has its hyper threading feature but it's not 2 physical processors so I can't expect performance at that level. I have a P4 2.4C o/c to 2.7 and during heavy...

When you compare the benchmark results between the Athlon 64 and Athlon XP at 800x600 and 1280x1024, the Athlon 64 FPS decreases at the higher resolution, however the Athlon XP FPS remain the same. Were the Athlon XPs not benchmarked at...
My friend has the same motherboard (Asus P4P800-E Deluxe) and memory as me, however in CPU-Z his memory shows up as PC4000 whereas mine shows up as PC3200. We're both using the same version of CPU-Z. That just seems strange to me.
I'm using an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe and a P4 2.4C. I bought 2 sticks of 512MB PC4000 off eBay for $210. It's labeled as PC4000 but now I'm questioning my purchase. I can run Prime95 stable for over 12 hours at stock speeds so I never bothered to run memtest.
In CPU-Z, my PC4000 RAM shows up as PC3200, however I am able to run the memory at 250MHz. I've heard from a co-worker that HyperX PC4000 is just overclocked PC3200 RAM. I have a friend who has PC4000 ram that shows up as PC4000 under CPU-Z. He has the same motherboard as me. Can anyone with...
OEM CPUs carry a 1 year warranty on NewEgg. You should be able to RMA it as defective. The motherboard carries a 1 year warranty as well and you should be able to RMA it under NewEgg or the manufacturer.
I have options for setting it at 266,320,400,500, and I believe the last one was either 533 or 550. My memory is rated at PC4000 (DDR500) so 500MHz should've been the correct option but it doesn't boot up under that selection. Setting it to 400MHz somehow ran the ratio 1:1 even though the CPU...
It looks like I may have solved my own problem. I left everything back on auto that I had set to manual and only adjusted the CPU FSB to 250 and the memory speed to 400. When I check the cpu to memory ratio via cpu-z it's 1:1 and running at 250. Can someone explain why setting the memory to...
I've been attempting to overclock a 2.4C to 3.0 with a 250 FSB. I've been able to overclock it beyond 3GHz using the AI 10-30% overclock option in the BIOS. Earlier, I was attemping to run my memory 1:1 with my CPU FSB but I have not had a successful POST running my memory at 500MHz, even with...
What would you install on a HP computer running a K6-2 550MHz and 256MB SDRAM? XP tends to run slower on older computers but the XP bootup is much faster than 2000. Compatibility wise I think both work well for your average user. XP is the more popular OS so I might be leaning towards that. I...
Can someone recommend me a cheap 2x512 1GB solution capable of speeds of up to 250? The PC4000 and PC3700 are over my budget so does anyone know of any PC3200 and PC3500 that can achieve those speeds. I've looked at the benchmarks on AnandTech and saw a few PC3200 sticks capable of those speeds...
