The G400 MAX came out a few months before the TNT2 Ultra and 6 months or so before the first GeForce, if memory serves correctly.
This was late 1999/early 2000. I remember arguing with a coworker about how great the image was on my new G400 MAX and he was spouting how the GeForce would dominate...
Hmm, with the company getting back in to graphics, as well as a company we haven't heard from in awhile...could it be Creative Labs showing off a new graphics card?!
Wow, thanks for the quick response.
I already have firewire connections on my machine - is this what you mean by needing an adaptor?
With these connections I should be able to connect an external firewire kit/cable (with the ide drive inside) directly to the machine and access the drive, correct?
Is there a device that will allow you to take an ide hard drive and use it as an external drive with a firewire connection?
I'd like to be able to take an ide hard drive and easily transport it to another computer at a separate location. This would be a data drive only, not one with an OS on it...

Why do most threads end up in flame wars and Product A vs. Product B?
Looking at the thread title, it has nothing to do with a card being better or worse than any other.
Those of you arguing about the advantages of the card you own are going to be the same ones discarding the very same card 6...
Thanks for all the suggestions. Sounds like just throwing a controller card into the machine is the best course of action. I'm surprised this hasn't become standard on mobo's as it doesn't seem to add greatly to the cost.
With faster bus speeds and serial ATA around the corner, I'm wondering if...
What options are there for multiple hard drives using IDE, no raid? Basically I want to add a couple hard drives to a machines for storage, keeping it as simple as possible. Since the machine will have a dvd drive and a cd-recorder, that takes up one channel master and slave. However, if I want...
