Yeah I remember ~5 years ago I was a bum and thought to myself "well it's a new technology, I'll just wait for it to be mastered in 5 years and then buy an SSD" and it's still same now as then. I also have an intel 330 for ~2 years now and it's still a good performer.
Thanks for the reply. Sounds logical enough. I am not looking for any better performance myself either. I'm more of a fan of reliability so hopefuly there will be more realiable SSDs coming out some time. Though I suppose something like mx300 is already reliable enough. I wonder if mx400 will be...
Any ideas where I could find these RAM pieces? They appear to be the perfect RAM for my old laptop.

Super fast and low-voltage, would love to dual-channel them.
Thank you all for replies! Please share any more insights you may have!
@cfenton there are still computers, even laptops that are 15+ years old and are fully usable now! I suspect same will be with today's machines since Moore's law is slowing down. Even the laptop I'm installing a new SSD on...
I want to update a laptop with an SSD and since it only has SATA2 connection, speed doesn't really matter and I really want a reliable one. So this brings me to two questions:
1. Can an SSD last for decades? Are there any models that could possibly claim such?
2. What is the most reliable SSD...
So I found out you PROBABLY can't upgrade Quadro fx 770m to anything much on elitebook 8530w because it only has MXM type 2 connectors and Quadro fx 880m uses type 3. Whatever that means. But for me it means no upgrade.
So the processor is most probably upgradeable. There are already models of...
Hello, do you think this upgrade would work? Please do not discuss the usefulness of these upgrades.
Things I have considered so far:
* There is no information about anyone doing this anywhere on the internet.
* The cards look similar on paper: both use MXM connectors, both are 35W, both are...
Yes my monitor resolution is native at 1080 and that's what it was on both games as well.
But why does it look SO much better with this thing? I don't think I can play games without this function anymore. Textures look so much more pronounced, objects look sharp, animations look so damn live...
Hello, so I got an LG display and tried this super resolution function for the first time in the menu. Internet browser looked weird and choppy, but then I started a game (Pillars of Eternity) and set super resolution to High. And omg, it's just so good! I can now clearly see every little...
Sorry for late replies. The monitors anti-glare is alright, I think. I was afraid it'd be too much as well.
Freesync can be on any frequency.
as for Photoshop it's hard to say as I didn't use it. I think super resolution ability of this monitor could be useful in photoshop.
Sorry for the late reply.
The response time has its own option in the monitor menu, it can be set to off low medium high. I just keep it on medium.
It is hard to say for sure, but I think I HAVE noticed some blurriness, but is really hard to say if it's because of games or because of...
Hello! I tried setting manual timing by copy pasting timings from 75hz and also tried "LCD standard" timings, both did not work. I doubt there will be specific information about timings for my monitor yet, as it is so new.
