Installed latest VIA chipset drivers but that didn't work. Installed Leadtek drivers, they don't help. I am guessing it is directx related, but i don't know anymore. crazy.

Ever since I installed my logitech optical mouse, windows went from taking 30 seconds to load, to taking 3 to four minutes to load. I doubt these things are related, but I don't know. It stalls for a couple minutes right after it gets to the colorful W2K splash screen. I reinstalled windows...

Hey everybody, I am looking for a modem that offers acceptable performance for cheap. Mine just got fried by lightening, luckily sparing the rest of my computer. I did some searching on the forums, and it seems that Lucent pci internal winmodems might be the way to go for me. I have no idea...

I just got a logitech optical Mouseman Wheel. I plugged it in to the USB port, and it was sweet. I really liked it. However, after a while, the red "light" within started to flicker, and just went out entirely. When I rebooted, it came back for a while, but the same thing happens...

Still Confused... Unlocking Duron 800

I can't get my multiplier above 9.0 on my Duron 800. When I bought it, it was locked at 8.0, so I connected the L1 bridges, but setting it to anything 9.5 or above would default back to 9.0. I was told by members of this forum to redo the L1 bridge connections. Well, I have done that 3 times...

Is Intel Burring itself?

I agree completely with Tharyn. Most people on this forum know enough to make educated decisions about going with intel, or amd. However, the VAST majority of computer buyers have no clue. They see intel, and think "yeah, i saw that company on tv", and that is more than enough...

Poor 3D performance. Suggestions?

Just got my MSI 831 GF2PRO and am running 3DMark2001 to see how well everything is working. Score is 2658 @ default conditions, which from searching a little seems pretty low. I would expect ~3000 at the very least. Any suggestions? Here is what I am running W2K 384 MB PC133 CAS2 (crucial)...

WIN2K and ISA

Just got WIN2K yesterday (for $25, I love being a student). Anyway, I am trying to reinstall my modem, which is a perfectly preserved fossile from the days of ISA. Windows just refuses to detect it, and just looks the other way. Are there known problems with installing ISA devices in WIN2K...
