matrox's upcoming card?

Maybe the fuss is caused by people expecting a quantum leap in picture quality and performance. With the G800, much of the fuss was caused by Murc. This time other sites are beginning to say the similar things to Murc. i.e. Aceshardware, ReactorCritical, NVNews etc. Regards MD

Hello gjspear Much of what we have gleaned about the Parhelia project has come from Murc. Although the specs havent officially been announced, several sites have insinuated that it will be impressive. I think the NDA runs out mid May so we may well hear alot more about it then. Regards MD:)

Question about Dualhead display for a Matrox Millennium G400

Hello 777php Unfortunately no. The max resolution obtained on a G400 on the 2nd monitor is 1280*1024 @60hz though I believe this isnt the case with the g450and g550. Regards MD

Geforce4 Ti4200 - A true gem?

The card seems like a corker. If I can get it for under £200 when it is shipped I will buy one (assuming no performance discrepancies). I have given up waiting for Matrox and I probably wont touch another ATi product with a 10 ft barge pole. Regards MD

Matrox G400 Users -> G550? HELP!!!

According to some of the Murcers the 2d quality of the G550 is on par with the g400. regards MD

Hey all 21" Monitor Users!

Sony g500 1600*1200. Reasons... web surfing, development, games and mega deskspace 32bit 85hz excellent for text but my mitsubishi plus 91 beats it for colour vibrancy (prefer the Radeon to my G400. The G400 has more umph but the text is slightly heavier which doesnt suit my eyes)

matrox and turbogl

I coiuld be wrong on this one but I believe that the TurboGL drivers were a temporary hack that was introduced about 18 months. I also believe that all this functionality now exists in more recent drivers. For some good advice check out the forums at matroxusers.com. The chaps there can be...

dual output video card

If dual head 2d in win2k is your main requirement then almost certainly Matrox is the answer. I believe both outputs have independant resolution under win2k which is unique. However, you could wait a while for the G550 to come out which should improve things on the 3d front. regards MD

It's Monday and has anyone seen the official announcement? . . . . Wot not No-one, not nobody!! Come on guys, i'd love for this to be true but methinks we are clutching at straws. (forever hopeful that the name of 3DFX will shine again).

Recommendations for a good, cheap 2D card?

Hello hhpwang 2d wise, memory size mainly affects resolution and colour depth. 8 megs should be plenty enough for most monitors and should give you a max resolution of 1600*1200 in 32 bit. regards MD
