Streaming video causes entire network to stutter - not bandwidth issue

Have a random video stuttering problem. While streaming video through my Plex media server over a hardwired connection, my entire network just grinds to a stop for a few seconds. It happens intermittently, and seemingly during random intervals. Network usually picks back up after 5-10 seconds...

Something I don't get about passwords stored in databases. And hacking them.

Basically, the "salt" is added to your password prior to hashing to add another layer of security. For instance, say your password is "password" and using a standard hashing algorithm, the token stored in your database is "1234567." If someone got a hold of your database and had a rainbow table...

The warning from Valve was probably more for liability/PR purposes as opposed to any imminent threat on someone cracking the entire set of passwords retrieved from the database. That being said, so many people use simple/dictionary passwords that they're bound to get into one or two accounts...

Pretty much matches up with what you just described. You have to be a US citizen and shouldn't have any criminal/terrorist (ha) history. I honestly don't know too many people who have submitted for a clearance and not received it. The primary reason more people don't have clearances is probably...

I just got put in my financial place. I have to come to terms with it.

Where do you have to commute to? The Courthouse area has some nice apartments, great restaurants, and is 2 stops away from DC. You can get a decent single or efficiency for 1700 in Arlington.
